Most people’s faith is based on how they are feeling in the moment. When we are with believers and life is soaring, we are happy, full of faith. What we call faith is often reduced to being a gauge of how you are feeling about our life. When difficult things happen we say, “my faith was shaken”. We must have faith, but we also must have something more. We must have trust. God is teaching you to trust Him, not because everything is great, but because He is God. To rest in Him not because everything is the way you want it to be, but because He is the One Who takes what is meant for evil and turns it for good. Trust is the great rest we are called to enter. It’s where you can release control of trying to fix everything, and just be.
